The proposed establishment of the Master's Degree Programme in Intelligent Civil Infrastructures Engineering represents a distinctive and unique initiative within the educational offer of the Department and the University, as well as within the regional and national context. It aims to fill a significant educational gap identified by public institutions, companies, and professional organisations operating in the fields of production, services, and professions. The programme responds to the growing demand for highly specialised professionals in the digitalisation and sustainable innovation of infrastructure assets, in line with the challenges of the ecological transition.
The multidisciplinary competences acquired will enable future graduates to work within public and private organisations, engineering and consulting firms, construction and maintenance companies, as well as in financial and insurance institutions involved in the infrastructure life cycle. Graduates will be qualified to take on roles such as Infrastructure Asset Manager, Digital Twin Specialist, Risk & Resilience Analyst, Monitoring & Predictive Maintenance Engineer, and other innovative positions required for the digital transition and the intelligent management of civil infrastructures.
Postgraduate education may continue through PhD programmes in Sciences of Civil, Environmental and Architectural Engineering, Management Engineering and Real Estate Economics, or Economics and Management at the University of Padova, as well as in doctoral programmes offered by other universities and polytechnics. Graduates may also enrol in second-level Master's programmes such as the Master in GIS Science, the HBIM/BMS Master, and the Master in Security and Emergency Logistics at the University of Padova, or generally in Master Programmes in Business Administration (MBA) offered at national and international levels.
This proposed interdisciplinary, innovative, and international Programme aims to train highly qualified professionals in the emerging field of intelligent civil infrastructures, addressing both the territory and job market needs, while strengthening the University's role as a centre of excellence at national and global levels.
The Master degree also grants access to the State Examination required for qualification to practise as a professional engineer.
