Alongside the two fundamental objectives of teaching and research, the University pursues a third mission, promoting the direct application, development and use of the knowledge generated inside the University in order to contribute to social, cultural and economic development of the Society.
The system of Test Laboratories available to the Department of Civil, Environmental and Architectural Engineering of the University of Padua is one of the areas in which the third mission of ICEA is developed with greater concreteness and effectiveness.
The Test and Analysis Laboratories in fact contribute not only to activities related to teaching and research, but constitute important places of comparison between the knowledge of the University and the testing needs of Companies, Private persons, Public Authority and Institutions.
These subjects, active in the world of economic and social relations, find in the activity of the Laboratories not only the answer to the problems related to compliance with technical standards imposed by the Law, but also important indications on the possibilities for improvement and innovation of their products and their services.
This role of crucial junction between the knowledge developed in the University and the certification and innovation needs of the economic and productive actors operating in the Society, qualifies the Test Laboratories as the places where the meaning of the third mission for ICEA finds its expression more accomplished.
